  1. Thank ye lassie. Moving around in the same country is some what similar, but I moved from country to country. Country to country is much different, theres new currency, longer distance and each country is different in it's own way. But i do see your point and well I can not wait to meet you.

  2. Ms. Stowe,

My name is Adelina Patti and I am an opera singer. I read your blog and I couldn’t help but notice that we have many things in common. For an example, we both are artists who are very passionate about our work. Also, we both lived in America at one point in our lives. Additionally, both of us came from successful families. We both discovered our talents as young children. One last reason that we are alike is that we both were married at some point in our lifetimes.

Even though we are very similar, we are also very different in multiple ways. Obviously, you are an author and writer and I am an opera singer. Also, your father was a congregationalist minister and my parents were both opera singers. I am very sorry to hear that your mother died when you were four years old. I cannot relate to that because I never experienced that kind of pain as a young child. Lastly, you have many siblings and I only have two.

Finally, I would like to inform you that I am very impressed by your passion and creativity that you have for your writing. You are a very talented writer and author. I highly respect your work.

Hopefully we will get to know each other better because I would love to learn more about your work.

    Sincerely,

    Adelina Patti

  3. Hello Harriet!
Let me just say I loved reading your interview! I am so sorry to learn that your mother died when you were young. My father died when I was seven. But, wow! I thought My family was successful! My siblings are not much compared to yours! It's very interesting to read you have an interest in the unjust treatment if different races. So does Adelina, you two I'm sure will share other interests! Oh girl, I've heard about that tell all book. I didn't expose any men in my career, but I broke hearts. Your son dying must've been a terrible thing to go through. I am afraid I know exactly how you must have felt. My daughter died at an early age.
I feel that you are an amazing person. And that the contest you won when you were seven really had an impact on your life.

  4. Dear Ms. Harriet Beecher Stowe,

My name is Ellen Terry and I am actress. I read your interview and looked at your artifacts and found some similarities between ourselves. First and most important similarity we share is that we both were highly influenced by our families. I instantly felt a connection with you, and felt like we were related somehow! How silly is that? You're from a state in America called Connecticut, and I moved to America later in my career, but I never made it to Connecticut. Is it a lot like New York or Los Angeles? Another similarity we share is how many siblings we had while we were growing up.

Although we have similarities, we have differences! The most obvious difference is our art form! I'm an actress and you are a writer (and a brilliant one at that!)Another difference between ourselves, is you were born and remained in America during your life and career, and I was born in Coventry, England and traveled to different places, including America.

I find you to be a very amazing woman, and I can't wait to talk to you at the dinner party!

    Sincerely,
    Ellen Terry
